The Zonta Club of
Longview awards a variety of scholarships to assist women to
contribute to their higher education.

Z-Club Scholarships
Four
scholarships in the amount of $1000 each are awarded each year
at our Service Awards Luncheon. They are awarded to
outstanding high school seniors who have participated in a
Z-Club sponsored by the Zonta Club of Longview. The awards
are based on a number of factors and are not exclusively based
on scholarship

Mary Belle
Hughey Scholarship |

 |
This scholarship in the amount of $1000 honors
one of the charter members of the Zonta Club of
Longview. Mrs. Hughey was also the founder
of the Annual Antiques Show and Sale, and was a mentor for many
members of the Zonta Club of Longview.

This
non-traditional scholarship is presented to a
woman, head of household, who wants to attend or
return to college to improve her qualification
for better employment to support her family.

|
Emeritus Scholarship
This
scholarship was established to honor all Emeritus
Members of the Zonta Club of Longview. It is also
a non-traditional scholarship in the amount of $1000 and
is awarded to a woman, head of household, who wants to
attend or return to college to improve her qualification
for better employment to support her family.

Young Woman in Public
Affairs
This
scholarship, also in the amount of $1000, is awarded to
a high school senior, preferably a member of one of the
four local Z-Clubs, who plans to enter the field of
community service as her chosen profession. The
successful applicant's application is also forwarded to
District competition, and if successful there, on to
International competition.
